Oxsensis delivers first Multi-Parameter sensing system

Oxsensis has shipped the first integrated optical interrogator and sensing system capable of simultaneous Multi-Parameter operation. This system measures both static and dynamic pressure signals with an additional output for sensor temperature from each high temperature sensor, and enables accurate measurement across a wide temperature range.

This multi-parameter capability extends the Oxsensis technical capability from the successful dynamic pressure sensing system which is deployed in multiple gas turbine development and monitoring applications. The Multi-Parameter Interrogator (MPI) is matched to derivatives of Oxsensis’ existing high temperature sapphire sensors which have operated successfully in high temperature combustion turbomachinery applications.

Oxsensis MPI systems can be used for dynamic pressure, static pressure, and temperature sensing and are capable of operation in harsh environments, beyond the endurance temperature limits of current technologies. Commenting on this latest shipment, Stephen Fasham, Oxsensis’ Technology Development Director said “This is a significant advance for Oxsensis technology offering. With the MPI we have the capability to replace two or possibly three existing sensors with a single optical sensor and move the sensing location closer to the action”.

With significant OEM test bed development and field experience, Oxsensis is now extending its applications base within the turbomachinery and reciprocating engine markets.
